01/23/2013 Richard Vanderhurst

Do you like to play a lot of games? Going to school? Are you a businessman? Trying to shed pounds? Perhaps you’re trying to get pregnant. Did you know the iPad can help you with all of that and more? There are endless apps for different purposes, but apps are not the only great thing about the iPad. The following piece will give you helpful advice so you can use your iPad effectively and efficiently.

Use your iPad to listen to music on iTunes. If you have songs in your iTunes account and do not wish to download these again, there is an easy answer to this. Select Home sharing in both your iPad and iTunes account. In the iPad’s Music app, click on More and then Shared. Then you can listen!

Don’t use your iPhone charger for your iPad if you are short on time. Your iPad requires higher wattage to charge than an iPod does. Using an iPhone charger to fully charge an iPad battery will take quite a long time. Just use the original charger that was given with the iPad.

You can use VPN to access a server remotely. If you need to establish a VPN connection with your iPad, go to the network tab of your settings and activate the VPN feature. Next, you need to supply both username and server address. If you lack the server address, ask a network administrator.

Shortcuts make it far easier for you to send messages. All you have to do is tap on the space bar, and it will put a period and a space there. This will eliminate the need to manually do it and give you more time to send more messages to your friends.

How do you avoid the frustration of an unknown hyperlink when browsing on your iPad? There is a simple fix to this problem. Since you’re not able to hover over words like on a computer, touching and holding the word will work. The URL associated with the hyperlink will be displayed.

You can easily take a screenshot with your iPad. Start by pressing the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button. You will see the screen flash then you will hear a click. That is how you know the picture was taken. If you need to find the screenshot later you just access your Photo gallery and look until you find it.

When using Safari, you can easily jump to the beginning of the page by clicking the top of the title window. Most people end up scrolling up, but that takes a lot of time. One quick tap, and you’re back to the top of the page.

You can now create folders with your iPad to store valuable information. Put your finger on an app for several seconds and drag it into another. This will create a folder with both apps. You can easily rename this folder.

Does your screen get scratched? While the iPad can take quite a bit of damage, if you start to notice small scratches, then it may be time to put a protector on your device. It protects both your iPad and your fingers from getting scratched.

Is your iPad loud? Go to Settings and select the Sound tab. You can delete the alerts for your email or calendar notifications. Along with completely turning off these alerts, you also have the option of reducing their volume level.

It is possible to copy and paste words using your iPad. All you have to do is tap on your text and then copy it. A second tap will highlight a selection of text and allow you to choose the “copy” option. To paste the text, tap, hold and choose Paste.

Have you been dissatisfied with Google searches using iPad? This can easily be accomplished in a just one step. Click on Settings, then Safari and finally Search Engine. Pick which search engine you desire. You can use Bing or Yahoo if you don’t like Google.

The auto-brightness setting can help your battery last longer between recharges. Your device is able to sense the strength of the lighting in any given room and adjust itself to fit your lighting needs. The iPad’s backlight gobbles up battery, so this function can easily extend the amount of time that you can use the iPad before charging it. The option is listed beneath the brightness and wallpaper settings.

When your iPad freezes, you can reboot your device with a soft reset. Simply press down on the home button and the power button at the same time. Doing this properly will restart the device. To close an application, click the home button and hold it.

The iPad has preloaded apps you might never use. The catch is that not all of the pre-loaded apps can be deleted. Place them into a separate folder and move them so that it is far from where you spend your time. That way, you can concentrate on the things you find most useful.

You do not need a third machine to download pictures quickly off your camera into you iPad. All you need to do is pull your SD card from the camera and plug it straight into the iPad’s new SD-card reader. This allows you to see the iPad’s file system, which means you don’t have to mess around with SSH clients or other apps to get at your photos.

Set up phone numbers and emails for FaceTime. Your FaceTime will include the emails you saved into your iPad, but you should add more contacts. If you need FaceTime to recognize additional numbers or addresses, it is possible to use the “settings” area to accomplish that.

These tips will help you use your iPad more effectively. You are always going to be using your iPad, whether it is to check the weather or get tips on purchasing holiday gifts. You’ll find you can’t live without it; it replaces a lot of obsolete tools you used to use. The tips you just read will help you throw away those old tools and use your iPad instead.
